Macro is a recorded sequence of your actions performed with a mouse or a keyboard. Any mouse or keyboard clicks, choices of menu items, ways of filling-in the forms and dialogues in any of Windows programs or Internet-pages can be associated with macro.
A bright example of good macro is an automated inserting of a company logo into an image file. First, you choose the menu item "file"-> "open", then you choose the file and open it. After that you insert your company logo, save the file and close it. This is a sequence of actions, if you record it, it is called macro. Having recorded this sequence of actions, you can reproduce it once to process one file or 1000 times to process 1000 files, or 1 000 000 times to process 1 000 000 files quickly. Just imagine how much time you would spend on inserting the company logo into 1000 000 file images. Obviously it would take you longer than a day.
